Andrew Stephen Lund, Child Exploitation, California 2018

A former elementary school teacher in Vallejo, California, has been charged with attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity and accessing child pornography.

According to a federal indictment, Andrew Stephen Lund, 36, attempted to persuade, induce, and entice a minor to engage in sexual activity in April 2018.

Lund was also accused of accessing and viewing child pornography between April 2016 and April 2018.

Until his resignation in April 2018, Lund was an elementary school teacher in Vallejo.

The case was the product of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Schuller Hitchcock is prosecuting the case.

A convicted Lund faces a mandatory statutory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison, as well as a fine up to $250,000.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
