In a shocking turn of events, Angel Flores-Quiahua, a 35-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced for illegally re-entering the United States after prior removal. According to sources, Flores-Quiahua was found hiding in a drainage ditch in the Hadley Village subdivision in Foley, Alabama.
HSI Inspections Expose Illicit Activity On February 25, 2025, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted labor site inspections in the Hadley Village subdivision, ultimately leading to the discovery of a group of approximately 11 individuals attempting to evade law enforcement. The scene unfolded as the group fled the worksite, attempting to avoid HSI Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents by seeking refuge in drainage ditches, construction zones, and wooded areas.
HSI Agents Pursue Fugitives Undeterred by the fugitives’ attempts to escape, HSI and ERO agents pursued the group into the woods outside the Hadley Village subdivision. It was there that they found Angel Flores-Quiahua hiding inside the entrance to a piping system in a drainage ditch.
Court Documents Reveal Prior Removals Court records reveal that Flores-Quiahua was previously removed from the United States on two occasions. On July 12, 2013, he was removed through the Chicago, Illinois port of entry. A subsequent removal order was reinstated on July 11, 2016, with Flores-Quiahua being removed again through the Nogales, Arizona port of entry on July 12, 2016.
Federal Prosecution Secures Sentence U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the Southern District of Alabama announced the guilty plea. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice Blackwood prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States. The sentence was meted out by a District Court Judge, who ordered Flores-Quiahua to serve time served since his arrest on February 25, 2025. Following the sentence, the Judge directed that Flores-Quiahua be delivered to a duly authorized immigration official for deportation consideration.
