Larceny and Failure to Appear Land Eagle Butte Woman in Federal Prison

Angel Taylor, a 32-year-old resident of Eagle Butte, South Dakota, was sentenced to federal prison for Larceny and Failure to Appear. According to United States Attorney Ron Parsons, the sentencing occurred on November 26, 2018, by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange.

Taylor was found guilty of Larceny, stemming from an incident on February 5, 2017, where she stole a pickup and personal property valued at more than $1,000.00, from an individual. Additionally, Taylor was convicted of Failure to Appear, resulting from her failure to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on March 21, 2018, for a scheduled hearing on her Larceny charge.

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services and the U.S. Marshals Service investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Miller handling the prosecution.

Taylor was sentenced to 9 months in federal prison for Larceny and an additional month in prison for Failure to Appear. Following her release from custody, she will be on supervised release for 2 years and is ordered to pay a special assessment of $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
