A notorious MS-13 gang member, Angie Marlyn Valencia, has been sentenced to over 5 years in federal prison for her role in a heroin conspiracy.
According to U.S. Attorney Chad E. Meacham, Valencia, 28, was indicted in November 2021 and pleaded guilty in April 2022 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin.
The court, presided over by U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr, handed down a sentence of 65 months in federal prison. In addition to the prison time, Judge Starr ordered Valencia to forfeit two firearms.
The case against Valencia stems from an investigation that revealed she and her co-conspirator, boyfriend Williams Jose Fuentes-Argueta, were dealing heroin out of an apartment on Royal Lane in Dallas. On September 16, 2021, while Valencia acted as the lookout, Fuentes-Argueta sold over 70 grams of heroin to an undercover Texas DPS officer for $2,700 cash.
About two weeks later, the pair teamed up again to sell another 76 grams of heroin to two undercover officers.
Fuentes-Argueta has also pleaded guilty to the same charge and is slated to be sentenced on October 26.
The investigation was conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Carrolton Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives’ Dallas Field Division. Assistant U.S. Attorney George Leal is prosecuting the case.
