Cocaine Conspiracy Rocks Cleveland Neighborhood
A Cleveland man has been indicted for his alleged role in a large-scale cocaine conspiracy, according to federal authorities.
Anthony Milner, 31, is accused of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute at least five kilograms of cocaine between March and May 2015, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
Milner’s alleged co-conspirators are not named in the indictment, but it is reported that they worked together to distribute the illicit substance throughout the region.
The case against Milner will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Vasile Katsaros, following an investigation by the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General.
Under federal sentencing guidelines, if convicted, Milner could face a maximum sentence of up to 40 years in prison, depending on his prior criminal record, role in the offense, and other factors.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Milner is entitled to a fair trial, where it will be the government’s burden to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Milner’s current status and any additional charges related to this case are not specified in the indictment or recent reports.
