Mobile, AL – In a shocking turn of events, Antonio Eirby, a 34-year-old two-time convicted felon, has been sentenced to 105 months in prison for possession of a firearm by a felon in Mobile, Alabama.
According to court documents, Eirby pleaded guilty to the charges and will also serve three years of supervised release after his prison term. The sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the Southern District of Alabama.
Eirby’s criminal history is riddled with violent offenses, including a prior conviction for domestic violence strangulation and burglary in the 2nd degree out of Mobile County Circuit Court. His latest offense took place on October 3, 2023, when he allegedly robbed a victim of his firearm in a parking lot on Highway 90.
An investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and the Mobile Police Department led to Eirby’s apprehension on foot, where the firearm was found on his person. The firearm was subsequently returned to its lawful owner.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice Blackwood on behalf of the United States. This sentence is a stark reminder of the consequences of reoffending and the importance of holding violent offenders accountable for their actions.
