Arica L. Anderson, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, West Virginia 2023

Arica L. Anderson, a 37-year-old woman from Lewisburg, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. The crime occurred on January 2, 2022, when a law enforcement officer conducted a traffic stop in the Pickaway area of Monroe County.

During the stop, the officer saw Anderson trying to conceal an Acier Comprime, .25-caliber pistol. Anderson admitted to possessing the firearm, which is a federal crime since she has a prior felony conviction.

According to court documents, Anderson was previously convicted of conspiracy to commit a felony offense: robbery in the first degree in Monroe County Circuit Court on September 16, 2013. This conviction prohibits her from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law.

Anderson is scheduled to be sentenced on July 31, 2023, and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
