Armed Felon Jailed for 7 Years
Lucas Adam Wade Hall, 32, has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a conviction that has left the people of Hutchinson, Kansas, safer.
Hall was arrested with a stash of guns, including a Taurus 9 mm pistol, a Beretta 9 mm pistol and a Smith & Wesson .44 caliber revolver. His arrest was a result of the ongoing efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Hall’s troubled past is well-documented, with convictions for attempted kidnapping, aggravated intimidation of a witness and aggravated battery in April 2011, and aggravated assault in September 2014, both in Reno County District Court.
U.S. Attorney Stephan McAllister commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Hough for their tireless efforts in bringing Hall to justice. ‘This case was prosecuted as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhood, which targets armed offenders with a record of felony convictions,’ McAllister said.
Hall’s sentencing is a significant blow to the community, as his actions put innocent lives at risk. The people of Hutchinson can rest easier knowing that he will be behind bars for the next seven years.
The Project Safe Neighborhood initiative aims to reduce gun violence in communities nationwide by targeting individuals with a history of felony convictions who are in possession of firearms.
