Armed Robber Sentenced to 7 Years

A Latta man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for his role in an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in Dillon, South Carolina. Che Quan Charon David Page, 26, was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison, to be followed by a 60-month term of court-ordered supervision.

The incident occurred on the morning of December 9, 2018, when Page forced his way into the store. He held an employee at gunpoint, forcing her to turn off the alarm and directing her to put the money from the store safe in a black drawstring bag he provided. Page then left the store.

Minutes later, a Dillon County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle speeding away from the area of the Dollar General. Page was in the vehicle as a passenger, wearing distinctive clothing that matched clothing worn by the robber. Law enforcement found a firearm consistent with that used by the robber, as well as a drawstring bag with cash both inside and scattered around the bag on a nearby roadside.

Acting United States Attorney M. Rhett DeHart announced the sentence, saying, ‘The defendant’s actions were brazen and reckless, putting the lives of innocent people at risk.’ DeHart praised the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office for their role in the investigation.

Assistant United States Attorney Katherine Flynn prosecuted the case. ‘This sentence sends a strong message that armed robbery will not be tolerated in our community,’ Flynn said.

The case serves as a reminder of the importance of public safety and the need for law enforcement to work together to prevent and investigate violent crimes. The sentence also highlights the consequences of using a firearm in the commission of a crime.

Page will serve his sentence in federal prison, with no parole available in the federal system. The community can rest easier knowing that justice has been served in this case.
