Arnold Eagle Bear, Jr., Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, South Dakota 2017

A Norris, South Dakota man has been sentenced for his role in failing to register as a sex offender.

Arnold Eagle Bear, Jr., a 34-year-old man from Norris, was convicted of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in September 2014. As a result of this conviction, he is required to register as a sex offender. However, in this case, Eagle Bear did not comply with the requirements.

According to court documents, Eagle Bear was released from custody on June 10, 2016, and began supervised release. He initially registered as a sex offender, but then absconded from supervision and did not update his registration.

Eagle Bear was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 16, 2016, and later pled guilty on March 13, 2017.
