Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty to Narcotics Conspiracy
A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to a narcotics conspiracy charge, according to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.
Arquan Butler, 26, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo to narcotics conspiracy.
The mandatory minimum penalty for the charge is five years in prison, with a maximum of 40 years, and a fine of up to $5,000,000.
Butler was accused of conspiring with his brother, Jahaun Butler, to sell fentanyl and crack cocaine between May 9 and July 5, 2023. During the course of the conspiracy, they sold approximately 72 grams of fentanyl and approximately two grams of crack cocaine to an individual working with law enforcement on 10 occasions.
Jahaun Butler, Butler’s co-defendant and brother, was previously convicted and sentenced to serve 41 months in prison.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the New York State Police, and the Amherst Police Department.
Sentencing for Arquan Butler is scheduled for August 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Vilardo.
