Niagara Falls Man Sentenced to 84 Months in Prison for Selling Meth

In a significant blow to the region’s narcotics trade, Asaad Rivers, a 38-year-old Niagara Falls resident, was sentenced to serve 84 months in prison for distribution of methamphetamine. The sentencing is the culmination of a thorough investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Niagara County Drug Task Force.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey E. Intravatola, investigators conducted controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Rivers on March 7 and March 12, 2024. A search warrant executed at Rivers’ residence on March 26, 2024, yielded a significant cache of illicit substances, including approximately 12 ounces of suspected methamphetamine and eight grams of suspected crack cocaine.

The investigation also uncovered a .22 caliber rifle and .22 caliber ammunition, which were seized by law enforcement. The discovery of these items raises concerns about the potential for violence associated with narcotics trafficking.
