Anchorage man Ezekiel Thomas made a move that would seal his fate. In just 24 hours, he hit two banks, leaving a trail of terror in his wake. It all went down on September 18 and 19, 2025, when Thomas walked into a bank in Anchorage and handed a teller a threatening note demanding cash. He got away with $590.
The next day, he struck again, this time in Palmer, Alaska, where he slipped into a bank and handed a teller another threatening note. He made off with $2,270 before being caught by Palmer police. Agents from the FBI’s Anchorage Field Office were hot on his heels, and they quickly identified Thomas as the bank bandit.
Thomas was already on state probation for a previous bank robbery conviction and out on bail on several pending state cases, including a bank robbery in Bethel. He’s got a long rap sheet and a penchant for brazen crimes that put the public at risk.
U.S. Attorney Michael J. Heyman called Thomas a ‘career criminal’ who disregarded the law and put lives in danger. Special Agent in Charge Matthew Schlegel of the FBI said Thomas’s crimes demonstrate a ‘blatant disregard for the law and for the safety of others.’
