Worcester Man Charged for Possessing Firearm and Ammunition

BOSTON – A Worcester man has been charged with illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition. Barry Jumpp, 29, was indicted on one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

According to authorities, on January 7, 2021, law enforcement arrested Jumpp in Worcester on an unrelated warrant. During the arrest, Jumpp was found in possession of a 9 mm firearm and 14 rounds of ammunition. Jumpp is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition due to a prior felony conviction.

The felon in possession charge provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000. Sentences imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
