Terrence Pyrtle, Drug Distribution and Identity Theft, Massachusetts 2024

Boston – Terrence Pyrtle, also known as ‘Big T’ and ‘big_t558,’ was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison by Judge Patti B. Saris for a ruthless crime spree that included drug distribution and identity theft.

Pyrtle, 42, of Taunton, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty to a litany of charges including conspiracy to distribute wholesale amounts of cocaine, fentanyl, fentanyl analogue, and methamphetamine. He was also found guilty of using another individual’s identity to fraudulently rent apartments in Braintree and Somerville for drug trafficking operations.

Pyrtle and his co-conspirator, Ashley Roostaie, used the stolen personal identification information to enter lease agreements, create a fake driver’s license, and secure a Green Dot debit card account. The apartments were instrumental in Pyrtle’s illegal activities.

The drug conspiracy involved distribution quantities across multiple locations in the state, with Pyrtle playing a pivotal role. Pyrtle was charged alongside Roostaie in April 2023. In May 2025, Roostaie received two years of probation for her part in the scheme.

This bust is a testament to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces’ (OCDETF) relentless pursuit of top-level criminal organizations. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kaitlin R. O’Donnell and David Cutshall led the prosecution, with invaluable assistance from various law enforcement agencies.

United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; FBI Special Agent in Charge Ted E. Docks; and Massachusetts State Police Superintendent Geoffrey D. Noble announced Pyrtle’s sentence today, emphasizing the collaborative effort that brought this criminal to justice.
