A Caruthersville man has been sentenced to 77 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy that spanned several months.
Bobby Black, 46, of Caruthersville, Missouri, pleaded guilty in November to six counts of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, including one count of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Black conspired with others to sell methamphetamine from January 22, 2020, through March 11, 2020. During this time, Black would meet with an undercover agent at various locations and sell the methamphetamine through several controlled buys.
The investigation into Black’s activities was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Assistant United States Attorney Keith Sorrell handled the prosecution in this case.
Black’s sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Matthew Schelp.
Bobby Black is currently serving his 77-month sentence.
The case against Black serves as a reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat the sale of this highly addictive substance.
