Emrah Eymez, Child Pornography Production, Missouri 2024

A former Boone County, Mo., man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for using a 9-year-old victim to produce child pornography, according to a Department of Justice press release.

The indictment, handed down in Jefferson City, Mo., charges 38-year-old Emrah Eymez, a current resident of Lafayette, Indiana, with three counts of child pornography-related crimes. These charges include the production of child pornography, receipt of child pornography, and transferring obscene material to a minor.

The alleged crimes took place between March 11 and April 2, 2024, during which time Eymez is accused of using a child under the age of 12 to produce child pornography. The mother of the 9-year-old victim first reported the issue to authorities after discovering a significant number of text messages and explicit images exchanged between Eymez and her daughter.

According to an affidavit filed in support of the original criminal complaint, Eymez and the child exchanged over 1,800 text messages, including nude images and a sexually explicit video. The child’s mother reported this extensive communication to law enforcement, leading to the investigation and subsequent indictment.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley S. Turner and was investigated by the Boone County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department and the FBI. The charges contained in the indictment are accusations, and not evidence of guilt. A federal trial jury will ultimately determine guilt or innocence.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood brings together federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
