Box Cutter Assault Lands McLaughlin Man 37 Months
A shocking incident of assault with a box cutter has landed a McLaughlin man in hot water, with a 37-month sentence handed down by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann on January 3, 2013.
Roland Joseph Thundershield, 39, was found guilty of Assault With a Dangerous Weapon, a charge that stems from an incident in January 2011. According to the indictment, Thundershield assaulted the victim with a box cutter, a brutal and terrifying act that left the victim shaken.
The investigation into Thundershield’s actions was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy Morley handling the prosecution.
