Bradford Christopher, Conspiring to Distribute Crack and Heroin, Maine 2016

Bangor, Maine – In a move to combat the opioid epidemic, a local man has been sentenced to two years in prison for conspiring to distribute crack and heroin in central Maine.

Bradford Christopher, 36, of Alna, Maine, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge John A. Woodcock Jr. for his role in distributing cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” and heroin between May 2015 and August 2016.

According to court records, Christopher conspired with co-conspirators to distribute the drugs in central Maine, supplying them to “trap houses” where the drugs were sold.

In imposing sentence, Judge Woodcock called Christopher a “traitor” to his community, stating that his actions had a negative impact on how young people grow up in central Maine.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office as part of the strategy to combat the opioid epidemic.

Christopher had pleaded guilty to the charges on October 13, 2016.

He will also serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence.
