New Orleans Man Guilty of Meth Trafficking Crimes and Machinegun Possession

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – Brandon Dunn (‘Dunn’), age 20, pleaded guilty on April 1, 2026 before U.S. District Judge Greg G. Guidry to conspiracy to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute, marijuana, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(D), and 846, and possession of a machinegun, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(o) and 924(a)(2).

The guilty plea was announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Louisiana. According to the indictment, Dunn conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana. The investigation revealed that Dunn was in possession of a machinegun, which is a federal offense.

Dunn’s guilty plea is the result of a joint investigation by the ATF and the New Orleans Police Department. The investigation showed that Dunn was involved in a large-scale operation, distributing marijuana in the New Orleans area.

As a result of his guilty plea, Dunn faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, followed by a term of supervised release of at least three years. The maximum penalty for the charges is life imprisonment.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Maurice D. Cohen. The case was investigated by ATF Special Agent T. Scott King and New Orleans Police Detective James Williams.

Dunn is scheduled to be sentenced on May 15, 2026. He remains in custody pending sentencing.
