Macon, GA – In a stunning blow to the city’s underworld, 32-year-old Tyrone Lamont Brantley has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking operation.
According to court documents, Brantley, a native of Macon, was at the helm of a complex network that funneled millions of dollars’ worth of cocaine into the city.
The charges against Brantley, who was arrested in 2022, include conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, as well as several counts of cocaine distribution.
Prosecutors say Brantley’s operation was responsible for bringing in upwards of $1 million worth of cocaine per month, with the bulk of it being sold on the streets of Macon.
“Today’s sentencing is a major victory for the people of Macon and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our law enforcement partners,” said U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, said in a statement.
Brantley’s sentencing comes after a lengthy investigation by the FBI, the Macon Police Department, and the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The case against Brantley is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of cocaine trafficking on communities across the country.
Brantley’s lawyer did not respond to requests for comment.
