Burglars Strike Keshena Residence, Thief Caught with Stolen Rifle
In a shocking case of burglary and firearm theft, three members of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin have been sentenced to prison for their roles in the crime. According to court documents, the trio had agreed to burglarize the Keshena residence of a relative. Once inside, one of the defendants stole a rifle from the home.
The burglars, identified as Brett L. O’Kimosh, 42, of Keshena, Wisconsin; Anthony Boyd, 23, formerly of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Mary Ann Dodge, 33, of Shawano, Wisconsin, were caught and charged with their crimes.
O’Kimosh, the primary defendant, was found guilty of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and sentenced to 36 months in prison, with an additional 36 months of supervised release, on February 13, 2020. His accomplices, Boyd and Dodge, were found guilty of Aiding or Abetting a Burglary and sentenced to 18 months in prison, with an additional 36 months of supervised release, on August 26, 2019.
The crime occurred at a residence in Keshena, and the defendants were tried in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The investigation was led by the Menominee Tribal Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Andrew J. Maier prosecuting the case.
Senior United States District Judge William C. Griesbach noted the serious nature of the conduct, the abuse of trust involved in taking advantage of a family member, and the need to deter others who would consider similar conduct.
