Baltimore Man Sentenced to 9 Years in Federal Prison for Trafficking Firearms and Methamphetamine

Baltimore, Maryland – In a shocking case of narcotics and firearms trafficking, a local man has been sentenced to 9 years in federal prison. Brian Keith Adams, 35, was found guilty of his role in a firearms trafficking conspiracy and distributing methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Adams was investigated by ATF special agents in December 2023, after law enforcement suspected him of trafficking firearms to the Baltimore area from North and South Carolina. Adams does not hold a federal firearms license and is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Between February and June 2024, Adams sold more than 100 firearms to an undercover agent and more than 100 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine. The firearms transactions occurred in both Maryland and North Carolina. During one of the transactions, Adams was armed with a loaded firearm for protection.

U.S. District Judge Julie R. Rubin handed down the sentence, which also includes 5 years of supervised release. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities.

U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes commended the ATF, USPIS, HSI, MSP, DPSCS, BPD, PGPD, and CMPD for their work in the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kim Y. Hagan is prosecuting the case.
