Defendant Busted for Massive Wire Fraud Scheme

A federal jury in Omaha, Nebraska, has convicted Bryce A. Nolde, 37, of Waverly, Nebraska, of three counts of wire fraud. Nolde operated BV Builders, a construction company that specialized in building barndominiums and shouses.

According to evidence presented at trial, between July 2022 and early 2024, BV Builders took large downpayments or drew significant amounts from customers’ construction loans, claiming the money would be used to pay subcontractors and suppliers. However, the funds were diverted to fund Nolde’s personal interests instead.

Dozens of victims testified at trial, detailing the devastating financial consequences of Nolde’s actions. Many were left with unfinished construction projects, while others faced construction liens on their properties due to unpaid subcontractors and suppliers.

The jury deliberated for slightly more than two hours before returning a guilty verdict for each of the three counts against Nolde.

United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher has set Nolde’s sentencing hearing for May 13, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Each of the wire fraud counts carries a possible penalty of up to 30 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Nolde may also be ordered to pay restitution to the victims of his crimes.

The case was investigated by a joint effort involving the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of Inspector General Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of Inspector General Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Office of Inspector General for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as well as the Nebraska State Patrol.

Nolde’s conviction marks a significant victory for law enforcement in their efforts to combat white-collar crime and protect vulnerable victims.
