GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Jesse Lewis, a 46-year-old Buffalo resident, is facing a decade behind bars after being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charge stems from a police raid on his North Ogden Street home.
The grim revelation comes from Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr., who announced the charges against Lewis. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Patricia Astorga, police officers executed a search warrant at Lewis’s residence on September 30, 2016. During the raid, they discovered a .32 caliber revolver loaded with ammunition, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Lewis made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer today and is currently being detained pending further proceedings.
The investigation leading to Lewis’s arrest was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Buffalo Police Department, and Lackawanna Police Department.
It’s important to note that while Jesse Lewis has been charged with a crime, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
