Bryan Kim Bullard, Fentanyl Distribution, California 2024

SAN DIEGO – Prolific drug dealer Bryan Kim Bullard was sentenced today to 20 years in prison for his role in the tragic fentanyl overdose death of 25-year-old Danielle Good of Carlsbad.

Bullard supplied the deadly substance to Good, failed to seek help for over an hour as she lay dying of an overdose in a bathtub, and then fled the scene. U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon called the case a chilling reminder of the dangers posed by fentanyl distribution.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jill Streja argued for the maximum sentence, highlighting Bullard’s extreme indifference to Good’s suffering. The dealer requested Narcan at 11:17 p.m., but did not call 9-1-1 until 12:22 a.m., and left the scene before police arrived.

Bullard continued selling fentanyl despite knowing the risks, even responding to a drug customer on Facebook just hours after he watched Danielle die. His criminal history includes acts of violence and narcotics-related convictions.

Judge Cynthia A. Bashant described Bullard as a one-man crime wave who showed no remorse for his actions. “I’m shocked and astounded you continued to deal after causing the death of Danielle,” Judge Bashant said.

Danielle’s family has been left with profound grief, but her memory and resilience are fueling the fight against this devastating crisis. DEA Special Agent in Charge Brian Clark emphasized the need for communities to unite against fentanyl trafficking, saying it is an act of poisoning our families and leaving a trail of despair.
