GRIMY TIMES – In Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ralph Eugene Johnson, a 57-year-old from Bunch, has been handed down a severe punishment for his involvement in methamphetamine and marijuana distribution. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Johnson was sentenced to 151 months imprisonment and ordered to pay a substantial fine exceeding $395,000.
This sentence came after an extensive investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Johnson was indicted in August 2013 and pleaded guilty in October of the same year.
The indictment detailed how on June 19, 2013, Johnson unlawfully possessed with intent to distribute a mixture containing methamphetamine—a Schedule II Controlled Substance—and marijuana—a Schedule I substance. The charges stemmed from activities within the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Presiding over the hearing was the Honorable Ronald A. White in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee. Johnson will remain in custody of the United States Marshal Service until he is transported to a federal prison where he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kyle Waters on behalf of the United States. The sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the justice system’s commitment to combating drug trafficking in our communities.
