Burlington Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Child Pornography

Newark, N.J. – In a chilling admission, Dennis Nerolich, 68, of Burlington, New Jersey, has pleaded guilty to possessing multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse.

The disturbing revelations came as part of a federal court proceeding in Newark, where Nerolich faced charges for his monstrous actions.

According to documents and court statements, Nerolich admitted to possessing these graphic materials from March 2016 to May 1, 2018. His accursed collection was reportedly acquired from Frank Maile, his roommate or landlord at the time.

Maile himself has pleaded guilty to traveling in foreign commerce for illicit sexual conduct involving a minor, and is set to be sentenced on June 27, 2024.

The charges against Nerolich carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 6, 2024.

U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger credited special agents of Homeland Security Investigations Newark with leading the investigation that resulted in Nerolich’s guilty plea. Assistant U.S. Attorney Elisa T. Wiygul represents the government in this case.
