Caleb Nathaniel Oliver, 19, Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun
In a shocking turn of events, a member of the Iron Youth group has been taken into custody for allegedly possessing a machine gun in Texas. According to sources, Caleb Nathaniel Oliver, 19, of Smiley, Texas, was arrested on Friday evening after exchanging money and taking possession of the machine gun.
The purchase, which took place on February 5, 2021, saw Oliver pay $1,000 to an undercover officer for the fully automatic machine gun. This shocking act has left many questioning the group’s motives and the ease with which they obtain such deadly weapons.
The Iron Youth group, known for its racist ideology and violent extremist views, has been under scrutiny for some time now. With this latest development, it’s clear that the authorities will be paying closer attention to their activities.
Oliver, who remains in federal custody, is expected to face a detention hearing this week before U.S. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth S. Chestney in San Antonio. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in federal prison.
The FBI, working alongside local law enforcement agencies, has been conducting an investigation into this matter. Assistant U.S. Attorneys William R. Harris and Mark Roomberg are prosecuting the case.
