Sezayir Bulamun, Cocaine Trafficking, New Jersey 2024

CAMDEN, N.J. – A brazen attempt to funnel 100 kilograms of cocaine from the American heartland to Canadian streets ended with a guilty plea today. Sezayir Bulamun, 48, of Hemmingford, Canada, finally admitted his central role in a large-scale drug trafficking conspiracy, according to Acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick.

Bulamun stood before U.S. District Court Judge Robert Kugler and confessed to one count of conspiring to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine. The indictment dates back to 2012, but Bulamun spent years fighting extradition from Canada, delaying justice for what officials are calling a significant blow to cross-border drug networks. The FBI seized the 100 kilograms of cocaine as part of the initial operation.

Court documents detail a meticulously planned operation spanning from October to November 2012. Bulamun, working alongside unnamed accomplices, allegedly orchestrated the pick-up of the massive cocaine shipment in Chicago, Illinois. The drugs were then transported to a New Jersey warehouse, serving as a crucial transit point before the final leg of the journey north to Canada. The scheme was complex, and investigators spent years piecing together the logistics.

This wasn’t a small-time operation. We’re talking about 100 kilograms – that’s a serious quantity of poison flooding the streets,” a source close to the investigation told Grimy Times. “Bulamun wasn’t just a mule; he was a key organizer. He thought he could outrun the law, but the FBI doesn’t forget.” The delay in bringing Bulamun to justice only underscores the challenges of international drug enforcement.

The consequences for Bulamun are severe. The conspiracy charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison, with the potential for a life sentence. Sentencing is scheduled for August 4, 2017, giving Bulamun time to consider the weight of his actions. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sara F. Merin of the OCDETF/Narcotics Unit and Andrew J. Bruck of the Economic Crimes Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark will be prosecuting the case.

Acting U.S. Attorney Fitzpatrick lauded the work of the FBI’s special agents, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Timothy Gallagher, for their relentless pursuit of justice in this case. The guilty plea serves as a stark reminder that those who attempt to profit from the misery of others will be held accountable, regardless of national borders. This case highlights the ongoing efforts to disrupt the flow of illegal narcotics and dismantle criminal organizations operating across international lines.
