Carlos Serrano, Jr. and 7 others have been charged in a massive narcotics conspiracy case in Rochester, NY. According to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, the defendants were involved in a widespread narcotics operation that dealt in fentanyl, cocaine, and other illicit substances.

The indictment alleges that the defendants were part of a conspiracy that distributed large quantities of narcotics, including approximately 2,678 grams of fentanyl, 692 grams of cocaine, and 22 grams of crack cocaine. The indictment charges Serrano, Jr. and 7 other defendants with narcotics conspiracy, carrying a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life. The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the U.S. Marshals Service, Homeland Security Investigations, and local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicholas T. Cooper is handling the case. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

A total of 9 defendants have been charged in connection with the case, including Carlos Serrano, Jr., Sam Sierra, Jr., Carlos Melendez, Jr., Eban Sterina, Juan Sosa, Jose Laviena, Giovanni Serrano, and Dusty Phakousonh. The charges against them range from narcotics conspiracy to possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

The investigation resulted in the seizure of approximately $200,000 in cash and jewelry, as well as a significant amount of narcotics and other illicit substances. The case is a significant blow to the narcotics trade in the Rochester area and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat transnational crime.
