CINCINNATI – Juan-Jose Carrillo, 32, of Compton, California, and six coconspirators have been handed down federal prison sentences for their roles in a massive methamphetamine trafficking operation. The final defendant was sentenced to 94 months, with four others receiving more than 100 months each.
The ring, which operated from at least July 2018 until March 2023, distributed over 100 pounds of meth from California into the Cincinnati area. Their supplier was tied to the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG).
Franklin Johnson, Gerald Jeter, Jr., Anthony Clardy II, Dre’Quan Christopher, Robert Day, and Tyrone Jordan were also sentenced for their respective roles in the scheme. Carillo coordinated meth deliveries while high-level distributors like Jeter and Johnson traveled to the West Coast to acquire the drug. Mid-level distributors Clardy and Day, along with street-level dealer Christopher, were part of the network.
The defendants were indicted by a federal grand jury in March 2023. U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace for the Southern District of Ohio, along with DEA, Cincinnati Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force officials, announced the sentences on Sept. 17. The sentences were imposed by U.S. District Court Judge Douglas R. Cole, represented by Deputy Criminal Chief Frederic C. Shadley.
