Cassie Chase Poland, Methamphetamine Distribution, West Virginia 2017

A Fairmont woman has admitted to her role in a methamphetamine distribution operation in Randolph County, West Virginia.

Cassie Chase Poland, 18, pled guilty to one count of "Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine – Aiding and Abetting" in a federal court.

According to court records, Poland admitted to aiding another in distributing methamphetamine in Randolph County in April 2017.

The charges carry a penalty of up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Poland’s case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives, The Mountain Region Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, the West Virginia State Police, Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, the Buckhannon Police Department, and the Weston Police Department.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
