Cassio Orville Donald Slowden, a 27-year-old man from Pembroke Pines, Florida, has been accused of stealing mail from a US Postal Service facility in McMurray, Pennsylvania. The alleged theft occurred on February 11, 2019.
Slowden was charged with one count of theft of mail, a federal offense that carries a maximum sentence of not more than five years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
The investigation into Slowden’s alleged crimes was conducted by the US Postal Inspection Service and US Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
Assistant United States Attorney David Lew is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
An indictment is an accusation, and Slowden is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The case is ongoing, and Slowden’s current status is that of an indicted defendant awaiting trial.
