Catherine Manzione, co-owner of All American Transit Mix Crop, a concrete company based in Queens, New York, has pleaded guilty to payroll tax fraud, according to a recent announcement from the Justice Department.
Manzione, along with her father Rocco Manzione, withheld federal employment taxes from the wages of All American’s employees between 2013 and 2017. However, they failed to timely file the company’s employment tax returns and pay over the required taxes to the IRS.
A total of $311,135 in tax loss was caused to the IRS, with the second quarter of 2017 alone resulting in a loss of over $38,000 in unpaid payroll taxes.
Rocco Manzione previously pleaded guilty to payroll tax fraud and tax evasion related to his operation of multiple concrete companies, including All American.
Manzione is scheduled to be sentenced on May 25 and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison, as well as a period of supervised release, restitution, and monetary penalties.
The case is being investigated by the IRS-Criminal Investigation and will be prosecuted by the Tax Division.
