Catkiller Sex Offender Caught, Faces Up to 10 Years
Ricky J. Bilyou, age 28, of Catskill, New York, has finally been brought to justice for his egregious crime.
Bilyou, a convicted child exploiter, failed to register as a sex offender in New York, despite being required to do so. His failure to comply with the law has put numerous lives at risk.
The investigation into Bilyou’s whereabouts was led by the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, who tracked him down from Indiana to Colorado, Illinois, and finally to Catskill, New York.
Bilyou’s guilty plea was announced by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith and United States Marshal David McNulty. His conviction is a significant victory for the people of New York and a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies.
Bilyou faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of at least 5 years and up to life when he is sentenced by United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino on October 14, 2020.
