A 51-year-old Cedar Rapids man has pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography, sparking outrage in the community.
Donald Etheredge, a resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, admitted to knowingly receiving child pornography between 2013 and 2015. This is not his first offense, as he was previously convicted of shipment and transportation of child pornography in the Northern District of Iowa in 2004.
According to court documents, Etheredge faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 40 years’ imprisonment. He is also liable for a $250,000 fine, a $100 special assessment, and supervised release for 5 years to life following any imprisonment.
