Grimy Times has learned that Kendall Woodall, a 35-year-old resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been sentenced to ten months in federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender.
Woodall, who pleaded guilty on March 24, 2014, admitted to moving from Missouri to Iowa without registering as required. The non-compliance stemmed from his 2002 convictions in Missouri for statutory rape and statutory sodomy.
Sentencing was handed down by United States District Court Chief Judge Linda R. Reade in Cedar Rapids. Along with the prison term, Woodall faces a $100 special assessment and a five-year supervised release. He is also subject to all sex offender registration and public notification mandates.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark Tremmel and investigated by the United States Marshals Service and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. It was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation.
