Defendant Sentenced to 10 Years for Methamphetamine Distribution

FORT WAYNE – Chad Billington, a 38-year-old man from Geneva, Indiana, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine in Fort Wayne. According to court documents, Billington engaged in the sale of methamphetamine to law enforcement on several occasions during November and December of 2020.

Billington’s methamphetamine sales were particularly concerning due to the high purity level of the substances. Test results revealed that the methamphetamine obtained from Billington had a purity level of 97 percent or higher. This level of purity is a significant concern for law enforcement and public health officials, as it can increase the risk of overdose and other negative health consequences.

Billington’s case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with assistance from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Wayne Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brent A. Ecenbarger.

U.S. District Court Judge Holly A. Brady presided over the case and handed down the sentence. In addition to the 10-year prison term, Billington will be required to serve 5 years of supervised release after his release from prison.
