A shocking case of child predation has landed a St. Johns man behind bars for over a decade. Chad Michael Sadlowski, 34, was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in federal prison for attempting to entice an 8-year-old girl for sex.
According to court records, Sadlowski engaged in a series of explicit online conversations with an undercover detective posing as the girl’s uncle. He agreed to meet the ‘child’ at a local gas station and was arrested as he was traveling to the meeting point, still wearing his hospital scrubs from his job as a respiratory therapist.
Sadlowski pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity in October 2024. Upon his arrest, he admitted to traveling to meet the minor for sex and also confessed to asking minors for explicit photos and videos on the messaging application.
During a search of his phone, investigators discovered additional child exploitation materials. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Homeland Security Investigations, the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office worked together to investigate the case, with Assistant United States Attorney John Cannizzaro prosecuting the charges.
HSI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Tim Hemker stated, ‘This investigation highlights the ever-present threat for children online, and this predator’s reprehensible actions demonstrate a coldhearted disregard for the life and well-being of a child.’
Sadlowski was also ordered to serve a 10-year term of supervised release and register as a sex offender.
