Local Man Indicted on Drug Distribution Charges
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A disturbing trend of illicit narcotics in the area has led to the indictment of a local resident on serious drug distribution charges.
According to authorities, Charles Leroy Palmer, III, age 23, was indicted on two counts of ‘Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin,’ and one count of ‘Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base,’ on unspecified dates in June 2017.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Martinsburg City Police Department, worked together to investigate Palmer’s alleged activities, which are said to have taken place in both Jefferson and Berkeley Counties.
The case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney C. Lydia Lehman, also with the Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Palmer is accused of distributing heroin and cocaine base in the region, which has sparked concerns among local residents and authorities alike.
It is essential to note that an indictment is merely an accusation, and Palmer is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
