Orlando, FL – The grimy details of Chrissie Fier Williams’s (39, Kissimmee) federal prison sentence came to light as U.S. District Judge Carlos Mendoza sentenced her to three years and one month for her role in international gun smuggling.
Williams, a notorious figure in the criminal underworld, admitted guilt on January 2, 2024, following her elaborate scheme that spanned over a year and involved five separate incidents. The court records paint a chilling picture of how Williams cleverly concealed firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition in packages destined for Trinidad and Tobago.
According to the evidence, Williams used household items as a cover for her sinister cargo, crafting fake shipping manifests to mask the true contents. She paid ‘straw shippers’ to act as fronts, delivering the packages under their names. Among the contraband were completed pistols and AR-style rifles, components that could be readily assembled into functional firearms, extended magazines, including an alarming 65-round drum magazine, and ammunition matching the smuggled firearms.
This high-stakes operation was unravelled by Homeland Security Investigations, with valuable assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security. Assistant United States Attorney Dana E. Hill prosecuted the case with relentless determination.
The Williams conviction is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence across all levels of law enforcement. The strategy, launched on May 26, 2021, focuses on fostering trust within communities, supporting organizations that prevent violence, and strategically prioritizing enforcement.
As Williams’s sentence echoes the consequences of her criminal actions, it serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against gun smuggling in our neighborhoods. The grimy truth behind this case underscores the commitment to make every community safer for all.
