Jefferson City Man Sentenced for Meth Possession
A Jefferson City man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison without parole for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. Christopher Eugene Ronimous, also known as ‘Rodney,’ 39, of Jefferson City, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Bough to five years in federal prison without parole.
Ronimous pleaded guilty to being in possession of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute on July 7, 2014. The crime was discovered after Jefferson City police officers stopped a vehicle for improper registration and conducted a search. While standing outside the vehicle, an Altoids can fell from Ronimous’s shorts. Inside the can was approximately five grams of methamphetamine and three ‘hits’ of LSD.
Ronimous was arrested and transported to the police station, where he was observed reaching into his crotch area while inside an interview room. An officer conducted a more thorough search of Ronimous and discovered two bags containing approximately 50 additional grams of methamphetamine.
The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Stuart J. Zander. It was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jefferson City, Mo., Police Department.
Ronimous’s sentence will be served without parole. He was arrested on July 7, 2014, and pleaded guilty on November 5, 2014.
