Christopher Mailloux, a 22-year-old resident of Reading, Pennsylvania, has been charged with two counts of production of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
According to United States Attorney Zane David Memeger, Mailloux’s indictment was filed today.
The allegations against Mailloux are serious and disturbing. If convicted, he faces a maximum possible sentence of 80 years imprisonment, a $1,000,000 fine, lifetime supervised release, and a $400 special assessment.
The case against Mailloux was investigated by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Berks County Detectives, and the Berks County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Morgan is prosecuting the case.
The production and possession of child pornography are serious crimes that have devastating consequences for the victims and their families. Mailloux’s alleged actions are a betrayal of the trust placed in him and are unacceptable.
As the investigation continues, residents of Reading and surrounding areas are left to wonder how such a heinous crime could occur in their community. While the authorities are working tirelessly to bring Mailloux to justice, it is essential that we all remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
The people of Pennsylvania deserve to feel safe in their homes and communities. It is up to us to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions and work towards a safer future for all.
