Christopher Michael Salisbury, Child Pornography Production, Maryla…

Christopher Michael Salisbury, a 38-year-old former Maryland resident, was handed the maximum sentence of 60 years in federal prison today for producing child pornography. The Long Beach, California native, who sexually abused two minors starting at the age of five while living in Maryland, was also ordered to pay a $250,000 fine by U.S. District Judge George L. Russell III. Salisbury must register as a sex offender under SORNA after his release.

Salisbury’s conviction stems from his abuse of the minors and his creation of explicit videos using editing software, which he shared on a hidden website dedicated to child pornography. He accessed this material through the ‘dark web,’ downloading and collecting thousands of images and videos over several years. His arrest came in November 2015.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul E. Budlow prosecuted the case, with support from the FBI Baltimore and Los Angeles Field Offices. The sentence was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation. For more information on internet safety education, visit www.justice.gov/psc.

U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the FBI for their work in investigating and bringing Salisbury to justice.

Salisbury will now serve his sentence while being monitored under lifetime supervised release upon his release from prison.
