Clint Registe, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Alaska 2018

Anchorage, AK – A man is facing serious charges after a 2018 homicide investigation uncovered a shocking truth.

Clint Registe, 37, is accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm – a charge that stems from the July 2018 shooting death of Brittney Sparks.

According to court documents, authorities seized several firearms, including a Mak-90 semi-automatic assault rifle, from Registe’s apartment after a search warrant was executed.

Registe allegedly admitted to possessing the rifle, which went off, killing Sparks. He has a prior felony conviction for assault and was prohibited from possessing a firearm.

If convicted, Registe could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Allison M. O’Leary, and was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime.

A criminal complaint is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Registe is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial.
