Percy Lee Strother Jr., Possession of Firearm by Felon, Alabama 2018

Armed career criminal PERCY LEE STROTHER JR., 47, has been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. According to the allegations in the indictment, on October 12, 2018, and January 5, 2019, STROTHER was found to be in possession of firearms, namely, a Beretta, Model 92F, 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol and a Jennings, Model Bryco 59, .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Because he has prior felony convictions in Hennepin and Dakota Counties, STROTHER is prohibited under federal law from possessing firearms at any time. If convicted of the charges, STROTHER faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Minneapolis Police Department, and the Plymouth Police Department. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement to combat violent crime.
