Crime Spree in the Rockies: A Three-Year Investigation Pays Off
The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Wyoming has successfully prosecuted a three-year investigation into a cocaine distribution conspiracy in Teton County, Wyoming, and Teton County, Idaho. The case involved a large-scale operation that saw five individuals brought to justice.
The investigation, which was conducted by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, United States Postal Inspection Service, Teton County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho, and the Idaho State Police, resulted in the sentencing of the fifth and final defendant in the case.
According to officials, the conspiracy involved the distribution of significant quantities of cocaine throughout the region. While the exact amount of cocaine involved in the conspiracy was not disclosed, the case marked a significant victory for law enforcement in the fight against drug trafficking in the western United States.
A press conference will be held to announce the successful prosecution of the case. The conference will be attended by Darin Smith, United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming; Ronnie Jones, Director of the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation; and Dave Olesky, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration.
The press conference will take place at the U.S. Attorney’s Office Headquarters, located at 2120 Capitol Avenue, 5th Floor, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on Friday, March 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. A virtual option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
