Wayne Christopher Kelley, a 43-year-old from Rayne, Louisiana, has been sentenced to 5 years in federal prison for possessing and intending to distribute cocaine. The investigation, which began in early 2025, was led by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and involved the FBI, DEA, and Homeland Security Investigations. On June 26, 2025, detectives obtained search warrants for two residences associated with Kelley, where they found a large stash of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
On July 1, 2025, investigators recovered one kilogram of cocaine at one of the residences, and at the second, they found a book sack containing measuring cups, spoons, whisks, a calibrated scale with white residue, a razor blade, and approximately 162 grams of cocaine. Kelley admitted that the narcotics belonged to him, and the total amount of cocaine attributable to him exceeded 500 grams, consistent with distribution quantities.
Kelley pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced by United States District Judge Robert R. Summerhays on July 20, 2026. He will serve 4 years of supervised release after his sentence is served. The case was prosecuted as part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat transnational criminal organizations and protect communities from violent crime.
