A Columbiana County woman and a nonprofit organization have been indicted in connection with the theft of $150,000.
According to a press release from the Ohio Attorney General’s office, Debra L. Smith and Community Action Agency were indicted on multiple counts of theft in office and misapplication of funds.
The indictment alleges that Smith, who was the executive director of the Community Action Agency, embezzled the funds between 2019 and 2022.
The case was investigated by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.
